Kids Love Learning with ABCmouse PLUS 4 FUN NEW APPs

[eafl id=”6281″ name=”ABCmouse 2 months for $5″ text=”ABCmouse.com Early Learning Academy”] has been one of my favorite online learning tools for some time now. I first discovered it when I taught kindergarten years ago. I quickly discovered how much my students loved learning with [eafl id=”6298″ name=”ABCmouse 30 Day Free Trial” text=”ABCmouse”]. Now my own kids love learning with it too!

Through the years I’ve continued to use [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] with my K through 2nd grade students. Now as a mom I also use it at home with my own kids. And I can tell you that they love it as much as my students do!

But kids aren’t the only ones that love [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”]! Teachers like myself swear by it and parents appreciate the ease with which they can support and motivate their children to learn at home.

READ ON because I have a special deal for NYCTM readers to try [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] at a special discounted price! Plus, I’ll also tell you about 4 new [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] apps that now make learning fun, even when on-th-go!

Kids Love Learning with [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”]

[eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] is great at encouraging little kids to complete learning activities by rewarding their hard work with tickets. What kid doesn’t love being rewarded? Tickets can then be used to “purchase” virtual items on the site, such as new fish for the classroom or new toys.

The [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] Tickets and Rewards System makes learning fun because kids think they’re playing a game, sometimes not even realizing that they are reading, learning, and practicing a wide variety of skills. I also like that the Tickets and Rewards System teaches little kids the importance of math skills as they keep track of the tickets earned and spent.

A Learning Environment That’s Just Right for Little Kids

One of the other things I love most about [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] is that it is completely safe for kids to use independently. They are no ads or external links that will lead kids elsewhere. You’ll find that the [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] website is loaded with kid-friendly activities that are easy to navigate and encourage kids to learn. From the colorful classroom homepage and learning zoo to the interactive books and songs, there are so many engaging choices for kids to choose from.

Although I do love the wide range of choices, I have found that such a wide variety of content may be too much for the youngest of kids. The littlest ones do tend to get lost in it. In that case, some little kids may need a more guided approach and you can choose for them to follow the “learning path”. The learning path guides kids step-by-step through activities and increases difficulty as they work to master new goals.

[eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] presents kids with a variety content from basic point-and-click activities, to more interactive activities and books that are aligned to fundamental pre-k and kindergarten curriculum.

[eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] also includes 1st and 2nd grade curriculum. However, I would say that this is mostly best used as remediation or for additional practice for kids in this age-group. I will tell you that I’ve found that the curriculum here isn’t as rigorous as what your child may encounter in today’s classroom. Still, it’s really nice for kids in this age group to have a fun way to practice basic skills without the pressures being placed on their young minds by today’s demanding Common Core expectations.

What’s also nice about this online learning program is that parents using [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] can customize their kids’ learning level, time usage, and other settings making the learning experience better tailored to their child’s specific learning needs and abilities.

All the Reasons You’ll Love ABCmouse

Besides the fact that [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] is currently the leading and most comprehensive digital early learning resource for children ages 2–8, let me point out a few more reasons why I love [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”], and think you will too!

  • [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] offers an expert-designed award-winning curriculum for preschool, pre-k, kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade
  • [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] includes more than 8,500 standards-based learning activities covering preschool – 2nd grade and 850 lessons across 10 different learning levels.
  • [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] covers a wide range of topics — reading and language arts, math, science, health, social studies, art, and music too!
  • [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] is regularly ranked as the leading children’s learning iPad®, iPhone®, and Android™ app in both the Kids and Education categories
  • [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] is used by millions of children (including my own) and parents, teachers, and librarians love it!
  • Research proves that [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] accelerates learning and helps children make significant gains in early literacy and math skills. Large-scale research studies and multiple independent studies have proven it and I myself can vouch for it as both a parent and educator!

Learning On-The-Go With ABCmouse

What’s also great about [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] is that now for the first time, families who subscribe to ABCmouse.com Early Learning Academy can also access hundreds of engaging [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] learning activities for use offline by downloading new ABCmouse “Constellation” companion apps at no additional cost!

Four apps are now available to download on the Apple App Store and Google Play, with more launching throughout the year:

The ABCmouse Music Videos app includes more than 50 animated music videos that feature classic and original children’s songs that teach the letters of the alphabet, numbers and operations, and more.

The ABCmouse Zoo app features 15 beloved zoo animal animations with hundreds of fascinating animal facts and fun quizzes.

The ABCmouse Language Arts Animations app offers nearly 200 learning animations that focus on a variety of literacy and language arts skills, including phonics, reading comprehension, and grammar.

The Mastering Math app is an adaptive game-based app that helps preschool and prekindergarten children build a strong understanding of the most fundamental math concepts. (Note: this particular app requires Internet connectivity and is the first in a series of Mastering Math apps.)

These apps are the perfect solution for on-the-go families who want to help their children practice what they learn during the school year, and to get prepared for the year ahead too. In fact, a recent study found that ABCmouse helped to prevent “summer slide” (i.e., summer learning loss) in reading for children. Students who regularly used ABCmouse over the summer demonstrated literacy gains equivalent to one month of academic instruction!

My kids love learning with [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABC Mouse”]. And I love how [eafl id=”6046″ name=”ABC Mouse” text=”ABCmouse”] supports their learning and makes it a stress free experience for all of us. I think you and you’re kiddo will quickly fall in love with it too! Happy learning!

It’s such a great program! I feel lucky that my kids have benefited from it for so long. It’s like having a classroom right in our living room. We love it!

  • Alicia Taylor

This looks like a pretty comprehensive curriculum. I love that it rewards kids with tickets for virtual items. I know my kids work so hard for in-game achievements when they were little.

    • nyctechmommy

It makes it fun for them! My little one loves to go “shopping” after working hard to learn new skills. Best part is I’m not the one dishing out the rewards. 🙂

  • Dawn Inglett

I think it’s great that it grows with kids from really young years to early childhood. They are already used to the format, so there is no need for them to have to learn a new app AND new concepts at the same time.

    • nyctechmommy

So true Dawn! And it’s so easy to navigate. The kids take off right away and my little one loves that she can work independently without anyone hovering over her to explain the rules or what to press / not to press. It’s great!

  • Alecia

This is the first time I’ve heard of ABCmouse. The lack of ads is very tempting! My 3 year old loves to play puzzle games and even on the paid versions of games she manages to get 50 popups in the time it takes me to walk to the kitchen and back!

    • nyctechmommy

Alecia I think this is one of the reasons why I love ABCmouse so much! I can walk away knowing that my kiddo isn’t being lead somewhere else. The learning isn’t interrupted and she can continue to have fun learning without interruptions. Piece of mind for me 🙂

  • Rebecca Bryant

OMG, I have been looking for something like this for my niece. She is going on 2 and loves being on my computer. Usually, I pull up Youtube videos but this would be so much more beneficial.

    • nyctechmommy

Yes Rebecca! We do the YouTube thing too but my toddler loves that ABCmouse is actually interactive and she gets to play and have fun while learning. Give it a try and let me know how your niece like it. 🙂

  • Carrie Chance

My daughter(now in 2nd grade) used ABC mouse up until last year and loved it. She learned a lot and had tons of fun. I feel it gave her an advantage when she started school

We have used ABC Mouse for a few years now and my son loves it. I do have to monitor him often though because he likes to spend a large amount of time playing with his treasures he gets from the tickets. The progress has been fun to follow but I wish they had better reports that align with the state standards so we can see how they measure up.

    • nyctechmommy

Hi Amy! I also love following the progress my kids make. Agree. I too wish their reports offered a bit more but also nice to not focus and go so crazy on the standards. Sometimes I just want to let the kids have fun learning and practicing the basics they need to succeed.
